Midlothian Photo Expo

I’m going to the Midlothian Photo Expo today. The expo will feature photos of all types from area photographers. There will also be free workshops, which is why I’m going. Of course, I’ll be carrying my camera with me.

Here’s the website for more information. http://shopping.waxahachiedailylight.com/ROP/ads.aspx?advid=1308087&adid=11184406&cat=3355

Andrew is one of my coworkers at the college. I was talking with him about lighting and snapped this as an example. I didn’t have my lighting stands with me so this is purely handheld. It’s also the first time I used the auto setting on the Vivitar. I learned that I can get up close and personal with the flash and it will pop off less light than the 1/16 manual setting. Perfect for those times where I need a setting lower than 1/16. Obviously this photo was not planned, or I would have used a second flash as a rim light.
